If HCl molecule is 100% ionic it will dissociate as follows

HCl->(H+)+(Cl-)

In that case the dipole moment will be

µ = 4.8 × 10^-10 esu × 1.275× 10&^-8cm

µ= 6.12 × 10^-18 esu cm

µ=6.12D

IONIC CHARACTER = (1.03/6.12)×100%

IONIC CHARACTER = 16.83% Ans
