Answer:Hey this is your answer-

R=16cm

R=R-thickness

R=12cm

=16-4 =12h=13

Total surface=2x 22\7(16 add 12)(16-12 add 13

44/7(28)(7)

=44x4x7

=2992 cm square.

Hey friend!!

Question:

The external radius and the length of a hollow wooden log are 16cm and 13cm respectively.If its thickness is 4cm then find its T.S.A

Solution:

{ A diagram for this question makes you better understanding}

Tips:-

★For solving this sum, you must be strong in the formulas

★ Whenever there is a question asked from the chapters like Mensuration, Trigonometry and coordinate geometry etc... you shoukd draw a diagram based on the question. This helps you for better understanding...

Given:

External radius (R) = 16cm

Thickness ( T ) = 4cm

To find:

The internal radius = 16 - 4

= 12 cm

R = 16 cm

T = 4 cm

r = 12 cm

L = 13 cm

WE KNOW THAT:

 \color{red}Hollow  \: cylinder = 2π(r+R)h

 = 2 \times  \frac{22}{7} (12 + 16) \: 13

 = 2 \times  \frac{22}{7}(28) \: 13

By cancelling 7 and 28, we get:

 = 2 \times 22 \times 4 \times 13

 = 2992
