The external radius of a 14 cm long metallic pipe is 9 cm and the pipe is 1 cm thick. find the volume of the metal used in the pipe. if the mass of 1 cm^3 metal is 8.5 gram. find the mass of the pipe.​

External radius = 9 cm

Internal radius = ( external radius) - ( thickness )

= (9-1) cm

= 8 cm

Volume of metal in pipe= πh(R²- r²)

= 22/7×14×(81-64)

= 22/7×14×17

= 22×4×17

= 44×17

= 748 cm³

Given,

Mass of 1 cm³ metal=8.5g

Therefore,

Mass of 748 cm³ metal= 8.5×748

= 6.358g
