MOSFET has  extremely  high input impedance because of the following reasons:

  • The main reason for the high impedance of a MOSFET is the extremely small leakage current of its gate capacitor.
  • The gate and the rest of the substrate body, channel, source, and drain are isolated by the formation of the Oxide layer which acts as a capacitor.
  • Hence gate and rest of the parts have no connection between them, which means MOSFET has a very high input impedance.
  • Due to the above reasons, MOSFET has an extremely high input impedance value.
