Given:
The fair spinner shown in the diagram above is spun.
To find:
Work out the probability of getting a prime number.
Solution:
Suppose the spinner has 8 equal-sized regions labelled 1 to 8.
A prime number is a positive whole number that is only divisible by one and itself.
Thus the prime numbers between 1 to 8 are 2, 3, 5, 7.
So, in the case of the spinner we have four (2,3,5,7) of the 8 numbers are prime so the probability of getting a prime number would be 4/8 = 1/2 = 0.5.

Well, you didn't provide the picture of the spinner so it's pretty much impossible to give you a specific answer. However, I'll describe a hypothetical spinner and answer the question in a general way. Suppose the spinner has 8 equal sized (by size I mean area) regions labelled 1-8. A prime number is a positive whole number great than one that is only divisible by one and itself. Thus the first few prime numbers are: 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, ...
So, in the case of the spinner I've described we are four (2,3,5,7) of the 8 numbers are prime so the probability of getting a prime would be 4/8=1/2.
If the spinner was not divided into 8 equal parts this problem becomes a bit harder, but not too much. In this case we would need to calculate the area of the each part labelled with a prime number, sum those areas, and divide by the total area of the spinner. Assuming that the spinner is area is circular and that the labelled regions are sectors (imagine the circle cut like a round pizza), then we can calculate the sector areas by the formula central angle/360 * pi*r2 where r is the radius of the spinner (likely this would be given or at least enough information would be given to calculate it) and the central angle would likely be given (or at least enough information would be given to calculate it).
I hope that helps. Next time try to include a picture or description of the picture.
