The Farmer's wife shows the strength of an Indian women in the struggle for life as she herself manages to raise her children after her husband commits suicide.

• The farmer commits suicide because of the heavy debt upon him. As Indian man take upon their ego to ask for help, hence the farmer commits suicide rather than asking for help from anyone else.
• Indian women are known to be strong as they have the ability to fight in any situation. Although the farmer's wife is dead from inside but she manages to work and raise her four children. She understands that if she too takes a step like her husband then the children will be miserable.
