Let the present age of father be x years and the present

Age of son be y years

Given that the fathers age is six times his sons age i.e..,

x= 6y.......(1)

Since the age of the father will be four times his sons age after four years we have

x + 4 = 4(y+4)...........(2)

Substitute equation (1) in (2) we get,

6y + 4 = 4(y+4)

6y+4 = 4y+16

6y- 4y = 16-4

2y=12

y=6

From equation (1) we have

x= 6y

x= 6*6

x= 36

There the present age of father is 36 years and the present age of his son is 6 days
