Age of the father :

Now , 8 years ago

Age of father : 5/2 x - 8

Age of daughter : x - 8

So

5/2 x - 8 = 4( x - 8)

> 5/2 x - 8 = 4x - 32

> 4x - 5/2 x = 24

> 3/2 x = 24

> x = 16 .

Answer : The present age of the daughter is 16 years .
