Answer:

Let father's age be x and son's age be y

Thus,

x = 6y --------------(1)

Now after 4 years,

Father's age = x + 4

Son's age = y+4

Thus after 4 years,

x + 4 = 4(y + 4)

x + 4 = 4y + 16

From equation(1) -----> x = 6y

6y + 4 = 4y + 16

2y = 12

y = 6

Thus son's present age is 6 years

x = 6y

x = 6(6) = 36

Thus Father's present age is 36 years

\Large{\textbf{\underline{\underline{According\;to\;the\;Question}}}}

Assumption,

Father's present age = p years

Also,

Son's present age = t years

So,

Situation,

p = 6t ................…(1)

Four years later,

(p + 4) = 4(t + 4)

p - 4t = 12 …..............(2)

Now,

Substitute the value of p from (1) in (2),

p - 4t = 12

6t - 4t = 12

2t = 12

t = 12/2

t = 6

Substitute the value of t in (1),

p = 6t

p = 6 × 6

p = 36

Therefore,

Present age of father = 36 years

Present age of son = 6 years
