As seen by Lenin, Russia was reverting to the rule of the Tsar, and it was the job of Marxist revolutionaries, who truly represented socialism and the proletariat, to oppose such counter-socialistic ideas and support socialist revolutions in other countries.

The USSR or the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics or just the Soviet Union existed from 1922 to 1991.
It represented the country of Russia at the times of world wars.
The country, well, was a one-party state and was governed by the Communist Party with Moscow.
Furthermore, the other major urban centres were mainly Leningrad, Kiev, Minsk, Alma-Ata, etc.
