PQ = PT + TQ
⇒ PT = 10 - 6 = 4 m ( QT = RS = 6 m)

tan ∠ PST = perpendicular/base
= PT/TS
= 4/50
⇒ ∠ PST = 4.57°
Now, cos ∠PST = base/hypotenuse
cos 4.57° = TS/PS
0.99 = 50/PS
⇒ PS = 50/0.99 = 50.5 m
Hence, length of cable required to connect the top of the poles = 50.5 m
