The figure alongside is a compound of a house. The length of diagonal AC = 40m , DP=25m and BQ =10m . Estimate the cost of plastering the compound at rate of RS.75 per sq m

through the diagonal AC , the ABCD quadrangle is being divided into 2 triangles, those are ADC triangle and ABC triangle.

AC=40m,

DP=25m,

BQ=10m,

area of a traingle= (1/2)×base×perpendicular drawn to the base

so, the area of triangle ADC= (1/2)×AC×DP

= (1/2)×40×25

=20×25

=500m^2

the area of triangle ABC= (1/2)×AC×BQ

=(1/2)×40×10

=20×10

=200m^2

the area of quadrangle will be= area of triangle ADC+ area of triangle ABC

=500m^2+200m^2

=700m^2

the cost of plastering the compound per 1 sq m is= rs75

so the total cost will be= 700m^2 ×75= rs 52500

the total cost of plastering the compound will be =52500 rs.
