So, we check the quantity l / A for every given conductor.

For ( 1 ),

\dfrac {l}{A}=\dfrac {L}{A}

For ( 2 ),

\dfrac {l}{A}=\dfrac {2L}{\dfrac {A}{2}}=4\dfrac {L}{A}

For ( 3 ),

\dfrac {l}{A}=\dfrac {L/2}{2A}=\dfrac {1}{4}\dfrac {L}{A}

We can clearly see that ( 2 ) has the highest value for L / A and hence exhibits the highest resistance.

The constant L / A is referred as cell constant it eletrochemistry.
