first we have to check the resultant resistance for parallel series

so, 1/R = 1/R1 + 1/R2

= 1/6 + 1/2

= 1/6 + 3/6

= 4/6

= 2/3

now we should go for the series combination

so, R = R1 + R2

= 2/3 + 6

= 20/3

= 6⅔ ohms
