To calculate the area of the shaded region we have to subtract the area of the circular paper cut from the area of the parallelogram card :

★Step 1 : Calculate the area of the parallelogram

$a = h \times b$

★Step 2 : Area of the circle

$r = 2 \: cm$

$a = \pi {r}^{2}$

$3.14 \times {2}^{2} = 3.14 \times 4 \\ = 12.56 \: c {m}^{2}$

★Step 3 : Find the shaded region

$66 - 12.56 = 53.44 \: c {m}^{2}$
