a) 26.4

b) 15.7

c) 42.1

d) 42.1

Given:

Roll width = 52cm = 0.52m

Roll length = 15m

a) The western wall is 5.8m wide 2.4m long

Hence, to cover the width of the wall,

0.52m x 11.1 = 5.8m

11.1 wallpapers are needed

Hence, to cover the western part 11.1 wallpapers are needed

The northern wall is 5.2m wide 2.4m long

Hence, to cover the width of the wall,

0.52m x 10 = 5.2m

10 wallpapers are needed

Hence, to cover the northern part 10 wallpapers are needed

The southern wall is 2.8m wide 2.4m long

Hence, to cover the width of the wall,

0.52m x 5.3 = 2.8m

10 wallpapers are needed

Hence, to cover the northern part 5.3 wallpapers are needed

The number of rolls required to cover the western, southern and northern walls are 11.1 + 10 + 5.3 = 26.4 wallpapers

b) The eastern wall has length of 2.4m and width of 3.2 + 2.6 + 2.4 = 8.2m

to cover the width of the wall,

0.52m x 15.7 = 8.2m

15.7 wallpapers are needed

c) To cover the walls of the whole room

wallpaper to cover the western, southern and northern walls + wallpaper cover the three walls in eastern direction = 26.4 + 15.7 = 42.1

Hence, to cover the walls of the whole room 42.1 wallpapers are needed

d) Complete rolls needed = rolls for eastern wall + western wall + southern wall + northern wall

Complete rolls needed = 6.4 + 15.7 = 42.1
