the figure, l(AB) = 14 cm. If the diameters of the semicircles AM and MB are equal, what is the total area of the shaded part? ​

Given:-

  • AB = 14cm, AM = MB

Then 2AM = 14cm

AM = 7cm

AM = MB = 7cm

To Find:-

  • Area of Shaded Region

Solution:-

  • Area of Semicircle = πr^2/2

           

 \frac{3.14 \times (4) {}^{2} }{2}

 \frac{3.14 \times 16}{2}

25.1 \: sq.cm

As both the Semicircle have same diameter then the area of both semicircle will be same.

25.1 \times 2 = 50.2 \: sq.cm
