The figure represents the quadrant of a circle with radius 3.5 cm with centre O. Find area of the shaded portion..

take it as radius

we know that

area of AOBC IS   =   1/4 * area of circle

                             = 1/4 * πr²

                             = 1/4 * 22/7 * (3.5)²

                            = 1/4 *22/7 * (3.5)²

                             =9.625

now find area of AOD = 1/2 *base * height

                                    = 1/2 * 3.5*2

                                    = 3.5

area of shaded portion = Ar AOBC -- Ar AOD

                                      9.625-3.5

                               =6.125 cm² Ans
