Answer:

Area of the trapezium = 36.4m²

Perimeter of the trapezium = 29.7cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Correct Question :-

The figure shows a trapezium ABCD where AB=5 m, BC = 6 m, CD = 13.2 m and AD = 5.5 m   , AE = 4 m, find

(1) the area,

(2)in the perimeter  of the trapezium.

Given,

ABCD is a trapezium

AB = 5m

BC = 6m

CD = 13.2m

AD = 5.5m

AE = 4m

To Find :-

Area and perimeter of the trapezium

Formula Required :-

Area\:of\:trapezium=\dfrac{Sum\:of\:parallel\:sides}{2}\times height

=\dfrac{a+b}{2}\times h

Perimeter\:of\:the\:trapezium=Sum\:of\:its\:all\:sides

Solution :-

Parallel sides of the trapezium (a , b)= AB , CD

Height of the trapezium (h) = AE

Area=\dfrac{5m+13.2m}{2}\times 4m

=\dfrac{18.2m}{2}\times 4m

=9.1m\times 4m

= 36.4m²

∴ Area of the trapezium = 36.4m²

Perimeter=AB+BC+CD+DA

= 5m + 6m + 13.2m + 5.5m

= 11m + 18.7m

= 29.7m

∴ Perimeter of the trapezium = 29.7cm
