Solution :-

→ Area of end face (ABCEF) = Area Trapezium (ABCD) + Area Trapezium (AFED)

→ Area of end face (ABCEF) = [(1/2)(AD + BC)*CD] + [(1/2)(AD + FE)*DE]

→ Area of end face (ABCEF) = (1/2)[(8+5)*4 + (8 + 5)*4]

→ Area of end face (ABCEF) = (1/2)[52 + 52]

→ Area of end face (ABCEF) = (1/2) * 104

→ Area of end face (ABCEF) = 52 . (Ans.)

then,

→ Volume of air space of the garage = Area of end face (ABCEF) * Length of garage .

→ Volume = 52 * 20

→ Volume = 1040 m³. (Ans.)

Answer:

a. FIGURE FORMS TWO TRAPEZIUM DIVIDED FROM MIDDLE SO AREA OF BOTH TRAPEZIUM WILL BE EQUAL.

AREA OF TRAPEZIUM= 1/2 × BASE× (SUM OF PARALLEL SIDES

=> 1/2×4×(8+5)

=26

AREA OF ONE TRAPEZIUM = 26 msquare.

SO AREA OF TWO TRAPEZIUM =26+26=52msquare.

VOLUME = AREA OF CROSS SECTION × LENGTH

=52×20=1040mcube.
