the figure shows three concentric metallic spherical shells. The outermost shell has charge Q2 , the innermost shell has charge Q1 and the middle shell is uncharged . The charge appearing on the inner surface of the outermost shell is

1- Q1+Q2
2- Q2/2
3- -Q1
4- Zero

Answer:

The answer will be  -Q1+Q2

Explanation:

According to the diagram the innermost shell has the radius of r1 the the inner shell has r2 and the outermost shell  has the radius of r3.

It is given that the inner most shell has the charge of Q1 and the outermost shell has of Q2

As given it is a spherical shell and the charge given to the innermost shell therefore the inside the conductor the electric field is zero.

Therefore the inner surface of the second inner shell contains -Q1 charge, Thus the charge distribution in the spherical shell is,

The outer surface of the second inner shell contains +Q1 charge,

The inner surface of the outermost shell contains -Q1 charge

The outer surface of the outermost shell shell contains Q1 charge,

But is given that the outermost shell has Q2 charge

Therefore the net charge of the outermost shell is Q1+Q2

Now the charge in the inner surface of the outermost shell = -Q1+Q2
