The filament of a bulb glows,but the connecting wires supplying current to the bulb are not heated".Why?

We know, heat produced in a resistance = i2R. In our problem same current flows through the connecting wire and the bulb. As the resistance of the bulb is high so it gets heated up and glows. But the resistance of the connecting wire is very low. So it does not get heated up.
