Obtain the crsytals of the solute: The more pure crystals of the solute are the desirable part of the mixture, and so they must be removed from the solvent. The process used for isolating the crystals that remain in the beaker still is called vacuum filtration

QUESTION:-

The filtrate obtained after separating the crystals of pure substance is called as,

  • a) Saturated solution
  • b) Solvent
  • c) Mother liquor
  • d) Unsaturated solution

ANSWER:-

  • Saturated solution is the answer

  • The filtrate obtained after separating the crystals of a pure substance is called a Saturated solution.

EXPLANATION:-

  • The purification of solids is a method in which the solids are dissolved in adequate solvent until it reaches the saturation point to obtain a saturated solution which is filtered and heated to procure a pure crystal of solid which is known as Crystallization.

  • The impure substance is dissolved in a homogenous solution which is mostly water, then filtered, then these filtrates are heated gently to vaporize water to obtain a saturated solution, which is then cooled gradually and the pure crystals are formed and impurities are left in the solution.

  • In Filtration, the solid particles which are insoluble are segregated from a liquid by using filter paper. In the filtration process, the mixture of insoluble solid and liquid is passed through the filter paper. The liquid gets effortlessly passed through the pores of a filter and solid particles are left behind. The liquid is called filtrate and the solid which is left is known as the residue.
