The process of accumulation of dust particles by way of winds beyond the desert limits is known as deposition. The process takes place when the wind movement is obstructed by some hindrances such as bushes, trees, etc.

This movement of the wind then slows down, and the sand accumulation occurs. When this accumulation occurs in huge sizes, it is known as the loess.

Whereas, the deposits of more fine particles of the sands are known as the Aeolus. ,
