first  moments of the distribution about the value 3   μ₁ = 2

second moments of the distribution about the value 3 μ₂  = 20

μ₁ = 2

μ₂ = 20

second moment about the mean = μ₂  - (μ₁ )²

= 20 - 2²

= 20 - 4

= 16

second moment about the mean is  16
