The first moulting in Ascaris occurs inside the egg present in soil to form first stage larva.

The second moulting also occurs in egg to form infective second stage larva but it is completed in small intestine when the egg is ingested by humans.

The second stage larva is then carried to lungs via blood where third and fourth moulting occurs.

Finally, they move upper portion of trachea where from they are swallowed back into intestines and develop further into adult male and female.
