C4H8 → 2 C2H4

Conversion of cyclobutane to ethylene = 1000°C

Time = 87/s

If one started with 1.00 gram of cyclobutane, how long would it take to consume 0.8 g of it :

so, t = 2.303/87 log 20

= 2.303/87 × 1.3010

= 0.034 sec
