Answer:

∴ Amount realised by the sale of second class tickets = (16/46) × 8050 = 2800

Step-by-step explanation:

Ratio between the first class, second class and third class fares = 10 : 8 : 3

Ratio between the number of passengers of first class, second class and third class

= 3 : 4 : 10

∴ Compounding the two ratios,

Ratio between money collected from first class, second class and third class passengers = 10 × 3 : 8 × 4 : 3 × 10 = 30 : 32 : 30 = 15 : 16 : 15

∴ Sum of Ratio numbers = 15 + 16 + 15 = 46

Total amount = Rs. 8050

∴ Amount realised by the sale of second class tickets = (16/46) × 8050 = 2800
