Fourth proportion = 50

Explanation :

Given :

  • First proportion = 7
  • Second proportion = 14
  • Third proportion = 25

To Find :

  • Fourth proportion

Solution :

Let the required fourth proportion be 'y'

Then,

7, 14, 25, y are in proportion

So,

Product of extremes = Product of means

 \small\rm\bf{7 \times y = 14 \times 25}

⇢   \small\rm{y =  \dfrac{14 \times 25}{7} }

⇢ \small\rm{y = 50}

Hence, the fourth proportional to 7, 14, 25 is 50.
