The first step in taxonomy is the identification of an organism. In the beginning, it identifies the organism, then classifies it and after that names it.

There are eight categories of taxonomy, and they can be termed as Kingdom, Phylum, Domain, Order, Class, family Species and Genus.

Each category is again classified into multiple branches. Carolus Linnaeus is known as the father figure of taxonomy who started the beginning of these separations.
