The first supersonic flight in 1947 it was just above The speed of sound . Which altitude would you expect Captain Yeager to have used for his flight ?

It would be above the stratosphere because as with this much speed it would cause a sonic boom .. a terrible difference and distribution in the particles around it.. causing a sound that can disturb the functioning of normal ears.. and hence taking a height above that would dissipate the sound energy making it safe for normal ears ..
