Given:-
first term, a = 2
last term , l = 50
let,
total no. of terms in AP = n
then,
sum of all terms, Sₙ = 442
To find:-
common difference, d = ?
Solution:-
Sₙ = n/2 ( a + l )
442 = n/2 ( 2 + 50 )
442 * 2 / 52 = n
n = 17
now,
l = a + ( n - 1 ) d
50 = 2 + ( 17 - 1 ) d
50 - 2 = 16 d
d = 3 .
common difference of the AP will be 3 .
