The first term of an A.P. is 5 and the common difference is 4. Find the sum of the first 12 terms of the AP .

║⊕ANSWER⊕║

GIVEN

a = 5

d=4

n= 12

SOMETHING YOU SHOULD KNOW FIRST

Formula =  Sₙ=n/2 (2a+(n-1)d) is used to find the sum of "n'' numbers.

SOLUTION

S₁₂=12/2(2×5+(12-1)4)

    =6 (10+44)

   = 6×54

Sₙ= 324

∴The sum of the first 12 terms = 324
