the first term of an arithamatic sequence is 1 and the sum of first four term is 100 find the first four terms​

let the numbers as :

1st term, 2nd term, 3rd term 4th term

sum of 4 terms = 100

therefore

1st term + 4th term = 3rd term + 2nd term = 100 / 2 = 50

1st term = 1

then, 4th term = 50 - 1 = 49

another traditional way

let the four numbers in AP be

1, 1+d, 1+2d, 1+3d

1 + 1 + d + 1 + 2d + 1 + 3d = 100

4 + 6d = 100

6d = 100-4 = 96

d = 96/6 = 16

fourth term = 1 + 3d

= 1 + 3*16

= 1 + 48

= 49
