The onset of monsoon in the state of Orissa left a huge uproar in the state. The incessant rains left many with damaged property, loss of lives, and even damaged the crops that were to be their main source of income. Floods have been an annual event in the lives of these people, especially those staying in the coastlines. But some have pointed out the severity of this year's monsoon as the main reason for the current condition of the flood.
This flood which started as light rain has been going on for the past two days and going by the weather reports, there seems to be no reprieve for the people. The authorities have issued a warning to all affected areas to get to safety and approach any personnel or volunteers for any help. And there are also numerous helpline numbers and volunteers have been set up to help the affected people cope with the loss of their property. The central and state government have also issued a notice for the release of funds for the relief work and the rehabilitation of those affected in this disaster.
