Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

  • The floor of a building consists of 3000 tiles.

  • The tiles are in the shape of a rhombus.

  • The diagonals of the rhombus are 45cm and 30cm.

To Find:-

  • The total cost of polishing the floor, if the cost per m² is Rs. 4

Solution:-

The tiles are in the shape of a rhombus.

Total number of tiles = 3000

One of the diagonals of rhombus = 45cm

The other diagonal = 30cm

\rm Area \: of \: rhombus = \dfrac{1}{2} \times d_{1} \times d_{2}

• Here, \rm d_{1}  \: and \: d_{2} are the diagonals of the rhombus.

Area of 1 tile = ½ × 45 × 30

= 45 × 15

= 675

Area of 1 tile = 675cm²

Area of 3000 tiles = 675 × 3000 =2025000 cm²

1 cm² = 1/10000 m²

2025000cm² = 2025000/10000 = 202.5m²

Given, cost per m² = Rs. 4

Cost for 202.5m² = 4 × 202.5 = Rs.810

\underline{\boxed{\purple{\rm \therefore The \: cost \: of \: polishing \: the \: floor = Rs. 810}}}
