The floor of a building consists of 3000 tiles which are rhombus shaped and each of its diagonals are 45

cm and 30 cm in length. Find the total cost of polishing the floor, if the cost per m2 is Rs 4​

tile is in the shape of rhombus so, we can find diagonal of rhombus

  • i.e. d1= 30cm .
  • and d2= 40cm .

  • hence , area of one tile= area of rhombus

and we also know that ,,,,,,,.

area of rhombus is 1/2 *d1*d2

putting value in the formula of the diagonals .

we'll get 1/2*30*45

= 675cm square

hence the area of one tile = 675 cm ^ ..........

now we have to find area of 3000 tiles i.e.

3000*675

= 2025000 cm ^

  • and we know that the unit is in metre ^ so converting the units we'll get

1cm^= 0.001cm ^

so it's 202.5 m^

.........

  • at the last,,

cost of polishing RS.4 is 3000 tiles

so, 4*202.5

= 810......

hence , cost for polishing is rupee's 810.........
