The floor of a rectangle has a length of 9.6 m and Breadth 8.4 m is to be filled with tiles find a number the number of square tiles required if each tile has side of 20 centimetres

Sides of the floor =5m and 3m

Length=500cm and Breadth300cm [ 1m =100cm]

Area of the floor =lb=500×300=150000cm

Square tile : Side =25cm

∴ Area of a tile =25×25=625cm

2

∴ No. of tiles required = Area of the floor ÷ Area of a tile =150000÷625=240.

∴240 square tiles are required to cover the room.
