Given:-

  • The floor of a rectangular hall has a perimeter 250 if the cost of painting
  • The four walls 10% metre square is Rupees 15000

To find:-

  • find the hieght of the hall

Solutions:-

  • Let length, breadth and height of the rectangular hall l m, b m and h m.

Area of the four walls = 2lh + 2bh

= 2(l + b)h

perimeter of the floor of hall = 2(l + b)

= 250m

Area of four walls = 2(l + b)h

= 250h m²

Cost of painting per m² area = Rs 10

Cost of painting 250h m² area = Rs(250h × 10)

= Rs 2500h

The cost of painting the walls is Rs 15000.

15000 = 2500h

h = 15000/2500

h = 6

Hence, the height of the hall is 6m.

Some Important:-

  1. Total surface area = 2(lb + bh + hl)
  2. Lateral surface area = 2h(l + b)
  3. Volume = l × b × h

Where,

  • L = Length
  • B = Breadth
  • H = Height
