Answer:

Given:

Perimeter=250m

⇒Area of 4 walls =2lh+2bh

=2(b+l)h

⇒Perimeter of floor of wall =2l+2b

⇒2(l+b)=250 m

∴ Area of 4 walls =2(l+b)h

=250h m2

⇒Cost of painting per m2 area = Rs. 10

⇒Cost of painting 250h m2 area = Rs(250h×10)

= Rs.2500h

⇒Painting cost of walls = Rs. 15000

⇒2500h=15000

⇒h=250015000

⇒h=6m

Hello !

Question:-

  • The floor of a rectangular hall has a perimeter 250 m. If the cost of painting the walls at the rate of Rs 10 per m² is Rs 15000. find the height of the hall.

Given :-

  • Perimeter of floor = 250m
  • cost per meter square = 10Rs.
  • cost of painting the 4 walls = 15000rs.

To find :-

  • Height of the hall

Solution :-

perimeter of the rectangle = 2(l+b)

⇒250 = 2(l+b)

⇒150 = l+b ............ eq. 1

AREA OF THE 4 WALLS =

T.S.A OF CUBOID - AREA OF TOP - AREA OF FLOOR

⇒ 2(lb +bh +hl) - lb - lb

⇒ 2(lb +bh +hl) -2lb

⇒ 2lb + 2bh + 2hl -2lb

⇒2bh + 2hl

⇒2h(l+b)

⇒2h(150) ............... from eq.1

⇒250h m²

According to the question:-

Cost of painting 4 walls = 10 × area of 4 walls

⇒ 15000 = 10 × 250h

⇒ 1500 = 250h

⇒ h = 6 m
