the floor of a rectangular hall is to be covered with a carpet 150cm wide. if the length and breadth of the hall are 20m and 18m respectively, find the cost of the carpet at the rate of 20m per metre.

length of hall = 20m =2000cm
breadth of hall =18m = 1800cm
area of floor =
(2000 \times 1800)cm {}^{2}

width of carpet = 150cm
length of carpet=
 \frac{area \: of \: floor}{width \: of \: carpet}
 =  \frac{2000 \times 1800}{150} \\  = 24000cm \\  = 240m
cost=240×20=4800 rupees
