From this statement we can get one information that when a herbivore eats plant then it can only get 10% of the energy from the plant and the other energy will lost in any other form for example in the respiration and from herbivore to carnivore only 10% of the energy can be transferred of the total amount of the energy that herbivore obtain from plants.

From the given statement one more info can also be obtain that which tropic level get more energy and which tropic level get the least energy.
