The flow of energy is unidirectional whereas the Biogeochemical transfer is cyclic explain why????
Answers
Answer:
The flow of energy is always unidirectional as the energy flow follows lindemans 10% law that is if an organism is dead the energy stored in the form of organic matter in its flesh passes 10% of it to the organism that consumes it and this continues.. so it is always unidirectional.
but in biogeochemical cycle the path is cyclic.because the chemical energy is not replenished and it must be recycled.hence the path is cyclic
PLZ MARK IT AS BRAINLIEST if it helps!!!!
Answer:
A large amount of energy is always lost into the atmosphere during its transfer from one level to another. This lost energy cannot be replenished from the atmosphere. Thus, the energy flow is unidirectional.
On the other hand, the biogeochemical substances are never lost in the biogeochemical cycle. They are only recycled.
