The flow pattern of the fluid on a cyclone separator is to be studied by operating a transparent model. The fluid in the cyclone is air at 20 c and 1 bar. The fluid in the model will be water. The pressure drop through the cyclone when operating is equivalent to 10 cm of water. The head available for the operating the water model is 9.0 m. If dynamical similarity is to be preserved, what is the relative scale of the smallest model which can be used, and how will the flow rates in the cyclone and model compare
