Summary of "The Flower":
"The Flower" written by Tennyson is a beautiful poem in which the poet uses flowers as a metaphor to suggest different forms of creativity.
The Flower explains how a new idea is criticised by others and not initially accepted. However, it is this same new idea that on becoming popular is embraced by everyone who criticised it.
The poem explains how people at first fail to see the worth in something that is created by others but later copy the same and use it; sometimes even in a better manner than the creator.
The Flower also describes the feelings of poet Tennyson who was criticised for his work where his work was considered to be useless and was compared to unwanted weeds rather than to beautiful flowers.
