Answer:

the focal length of same lenses for blue light is 44.64 cm

Explanation:

As we know that the focal length of the lens is given by lens makers formula as

\frac{1}{f} = (\mu - 1)(\frac{1}{R_1} - \frac{1}{R_2})

now we have two different colors of light for which the refractive index is different

so we will have

\frac{f_2}{f_1} = \frac{(\mu_1 - 1)(\frac{1}{R_1} - \frac{1}{R_2})}{(\mu_2 - 1)(\frac{1}{R_1} - \frac{1}{R_2})}

so we know that

\mu_1 = 1.5

\mu_2 = 1.56

so we will have

\frac{f_2}{f_1} = \frac{(1.5 - 1)}{(1.56 - 1)}

so we will have

\frac{f_2}{50} = \frac{0.50}{0.56}

f_2 = 44.64 cm
