The focallength of a convex mirror is 12.5 cm. How far is its centre of curvature (i) from the pole (ii) from the focus. Find the focal length of a convex mirror of radius of curvature 1m.

Answer:

i)25cm

ii)12.5cm

iii)0.5m

Explanation:

i) we know that F=R/2

therfore 2F=R

2*12.5=R

R=25cm which equals to centre of curvature

ii)since distance between focus and pole equals to distance between focus

and radius of curvature

therfore the distance of centre if curvature is 12.5cm far from its focus

iii) we know that F=R/2

therfore F=1/2

                =0.5m
