Answer:

In the original data, x = 24

The median in the sequence = 22.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Finding x:

12,14,17,20,22,x,26,28,32,36

10 numbers, so the median is the 5th + 6th number divided by 2

(22 + x) / 2 = 23

22 + x = 46

x = 24

Finding the median of the new sequence:

New sequence = 12,14,17,20,22,23,23,26,28,36

10 numbers, so the median is the 5th + 6th number divided by 2

(22 + 23) / 2 = median

45 / 2 = 22.5

The median in the new sequence is 22.5
