The following diagram shows the floor of a room. OAB is a sector of a circle with center, O. OA = OB = 12 meters and ∠AOB=110°. OAED and OBCD are trapezoids. Calculate the area of the floor.

-Area of AOB(sector)

Area = Area Of Circle × Angle ÷ 360

First, area of circle is 144π

Next, angle is 110°

The area is 44π.

-Area of trapezoids

Area = 1/2 times (Base + Base)

Height is 10m

Two bases is 20m and 16m

Area of one trapezoid is 1/2 times 36

The area of trapezoids is 36.

-Area of floor(sum)

Here is the answer, 36+44π m²
