The value of x is 27° and the value of y is  63°

Explanation:

In the given figure , we have a triangle in which two angles are given as x and y such that x:y = 3:7 and the third angle should be 90° ∵ each interior angle in rectangle is 90°.

Let Measure of angle x = 3a

Measure of angle y = 7a

By Angle sum property of triangle , we have

3a+ 7a+ 90° = 180°

⇒ 10a =  180°-  90°

⇒ 10a = 90°

Divide both sides by 10 , we get

a= 9°

Now , Measure of angle x = 3(9°) =27°

Measure of angle y = 7a = 7(9°) = 63°

Hence, the value of x is 27°and the value of y is 63°.
